As our Building Control Manager, you’ll thrive on ensuring the highest standards of construction and public safety in one of the UK’s most dynamic and fast-growing cities. You will be a self-motivated and ambitious registered building inspector with the management experience to lead the Building Control Team. The team handles over 3,000 building regulations applications per year with over 60% market share.You will be responsible for strategic and operational management of the building control service, supporting your team to deliver on the council’s priorities and strive for continuous service improvements, ensuring the highest standards in construction and public safety. The Building Control Team includes 25 registered building inspectors and operates within a complex economic, business and cultural environment.About you
As our Building Control Manager, you will be a registered building inspector (Class 2F to 3H), with an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent relevant skills and experience.You will bring to the role:proven management experience, with a strong track record of implementing creative solutions in a complex project environment and achieving transformational outcomessound knowledge of legislation, regulation and policy relating to building control, with detailed understanding of economic strategy, local government and the political contextstrategic and operational experience in building control, including budget management, resource allocation, performance reporting, and policy developmenta collaborative approach, with experience of successful partnership working and building trusted relationships across services and sectorsWhat we offer
