Behaviour Support Assistant – Permanent Position

The Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students who require additional guidance outside the mainstream classroom or within the school’s dedicated resource base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for students who need help managing their behaviour and re-engaging with learning.
- Implementing strategies to reduce conflict, support emotional regulation, and encourage positive choices.
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral leaders, and parents to ensure each student feels valued and supported.
- Acting as a role model, building strong relationships with students to help them develop confidence and resilience.
This is a permanent position with opportunities for career progression into pastoral or SEND roles for the right candidate.

Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Experienced in working with children or young people, this could be in schools, youth work, sports coaching, or similar roles.
- Skilled in behaviour management and conflict resolution, with a calm and empathetic approach.
- Resilient, patient, and enthusiastic about helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- Able to bring transferable skills, but childcare experience is essential.
