The Position - Behaviour Mentor / 1:1 Teaching Assistant

A welcoming three-form entry primary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor / 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. You will be providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil who displays very challenging behaviour and requires consistent support throughout the school day. The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and committed to building a trusting relationship with the child. A key part of the role will be understanding the child''s individual needs, identifying behavioural triggers, and implementing positive strategies to help them regulate their emotions and engage successfully in school life. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider pastoral team to provide consistent support and encourage positive outcomes both academically and socially. There will be a trial during the first week back in September, allowing you to meet the staff and pupil before starting the role.
