Backend Engineer

A rapidly growing, well-funded AI technology company revolutionising video intelligence through computer vision, machine learning and cloud-native technology.They''re seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer to build and scale the core services powering their AI platform.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable Back End services using Golang and Python.Build and optimise APIs, databases and large-scale data pipelines.Develop reliable distributed systems handling significant traffic and data volumes.Improve performance, scalability, observability and infrastructure efficiency.Own features end to end, collaborating with ML, Front End and infrastructure engineers.RequirementsStrong Back End engineering experience, ideally Go or Python (other languages considered).Experience building scalable APIs, databases and distributed systems.Cloud experience, ideally AWS; Kubernetes, Pulumi or Grafana advantageous.Experience developing production systems at scale.Ideally a startup, scale-up or high-growth technology background.Strong technical ownership, problem-solving and communication skills.Experience: 4-5+ years as a guide, with ability valued over tenure.BenefitsUp to £120k salary + early-stage equity.Challenging engineering problems involving AI and large-scale systems.Flexible holidays, team events and premium development tools.High-impact role with genuine technical ownership.Working arrangement: Primarily office-based in Old Street, with occasional WFH flexibility.*Rates ..... full job details .....
