Senior Backend Engineer Node.js and AI Manchester Hybrid £70,000 £85,000 + benefits Adria Solutions is recruiting a Senior Backend Engineer for a fintech business developing a new platform for digital financial services. With established backing and its first engineering team taking shape, this is an opportunity to influence technical decisions, build services from the ground up and help shape how the team works. The role Reporting to the CTO, you ll build reliable, secure backend services supporting banking and payments products. AI will form part of both your development workflow and the platform itself, with opportunities to deliver features such as intelligent assistants, process automation and document processing. You ll take ownership of features from design through to production, working closely with product, design and engineering colleagues. Key responsibilities Build and maintain backend applications using Node.js. Develop APIs, database services and event-driven systems. Connect the platform with banking, payments and third-party services through REST and GraphQL integrations. Use AI coding tools to improve delivery while maintaining rigorous testing, security and code quality. Develop and deploy practical AI features that improve customer experiences and business processes. Own implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
