The Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager Role
Initially, this role will be a hybrid of 20% audit and 80% accounts, but that balance will evolve as the firm\''s audit offering grows — ideal for someone keen to get involved early and help build a service line from the ground up.A critical element of this position is acting as the technical "go-to" for the team, particularly around group consolidations, complex accounting issues, and UK GAAP compliance. You will also be a key support for junior members of the team, providing technical oversight and guidance as the business develops its management layer.
Key Responsibilities
Lead audit engagements from planning to completion (initially limited but increasing over time).
Prepare and review statutory accounts, ensuring technical accuracy.
Act as the technical resource for group consolidations and complex accounting queries.
Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a learn-as-you-go culture.
Work closely with the leadership team on growing and shaping the audit and accounts offering.
Build client relationships across a broad range of industries.
What We\''re Looking For
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
Proven experience with group consolidations and technical accounting under UK GAAP.
Comfortable working in a hands-on, growing environment — flexible and entrepreneurial.
Desire to work within an informal, relationship-driven firm with a flat structure.
Audit experience — ready to lead smaller engagements and build this area further.
Ambition to help shape your own role as the business evolves.
The Package
Salary up to £65,000, depending on experience.
Hybrid and flexible working — most of the team is in the office on Thursdays, but otherwise flexible.
25 days holiday, plus bank holidays and your birthday off.
Christmas shutdown from Christmas Eve to New Year.
