About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining the commercial team of a leading engineering and construction contractor who operate across the commercial, education, industrial, mixed-use, life science and film studio sectors plus their civils division.

They have been successfully growing in the construction industry for over 100 years becoming a Tier 1 Main Contractor. You will be joining a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a -7m new build project in Watford where you will be based on site 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Include but not limited to:

• Assisting with cost planning and budgeting for construction projects
• Preparing tender documents and helping with procurement of subcontractors
• Reviewing subcontractor quotations and comparing costs
• Supporting valuations, interim payments and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs and reporting cost variations
• Assisting with contract administration including JCT contracts

Key Requirements of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

• Degree educated in a construction related subject
• Approximately 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at a Main Contractor
• Live within commutable distance to Watford
