Location: Northampton (Office Based)
Salary: From £55,000 per annum (Negotiable DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm

Job Description

Stridden Limited are recruiting on behalf of an established Groundworks & Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Northampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected contractor delivering residential and commercial groundworks projects across Northampton and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be office-based, with regular visits to live sites as required.

Key Duties

• Managing the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks projects from inception through to final account.
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts.
• Preparing cost plans, forecasts and budgets.
• Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations.
• Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance.
• Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
• Producing accurate cost reports and ensuring financial targets are achieved.
• Managing contractual documentation and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Groundworks or Civil Engineering is essential.
• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial groundworks packages.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• £50,000 salary (negotiable depending on experience).
