Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor - Shop Fitting

Location - Blackpool

Salary/Package - -35,000 - -45,000 + Package

Our client is an established construction and shop fitting contractor delivering commercial projects across the UK.

With a strong reputation for quality, client service and project delivery, the business continues to grow and is looking to add an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to its commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an Assistant QS looking to progress or an existing QS looking to develop their career within a specialist shop fitting and commercial construction environment.

You will work closely with the senior commercial and operational teams, gaining exposure to projects from procurement through to final account.

• Supporting the commercial management of shop fitting projects

• Assisting with budgets, cost plans and forecasts

• Supporting subcontract procurement

• Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor quotations

• Managing subcontractor accounts

• Preparing valuations and payment applications

• Assisting with variations and change control

• Supporting CVRs and commercial reporting

• Monitoring project costs and identifying risks

• Assisting with final accounts

• Working closely with Project Managers and site teams

• Supporting tendering and estimating activities

• Maintaining accurate commercial records

• Developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers

• Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor

• Construction main contractor or specialist contractor background

• Shop fitting, fit out or commercial construction experience would be advantageous

• Good understanding of commercial construction processes

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Good Excel and IT skills

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ambitious and keen to develop

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or working towards one would be advantageous

• -35,000 - -45,000 salary + package
