Assistant Project Manager Construction Consultancy
An established construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking for an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager who has already gained some consultancy experience and now wants greater exposure to live projects, experienced senior professionals and a clear route towards progression.
The successful Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of projects from inception through to completion, working closely with Project Managers, senior colleagues, clients and consultant teams. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will assist with project coordination, reporting, meetings, programme management and stakeholder communication. The consultancy is looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is proactive, organised and keen to take on increasing responsibility as their experience develops.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Assistant Project Manager''s role
The Assistant Project Manager will support the day-to-day delivery of a varied portfolio of construction projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
Responsibilities will include assisting with project programmes, attending and minuting meetings, coordinating consultants, monitoring actions, preparing reports and supporting procurement and contractor management.
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with experienced Project Managers and Directors, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle while gradually taking greater ownership of smaller workstreams and projects.
The Assistant Project Manager
The successful Assistant Project Manager will ideally have:
- Previous Project Management experience within a construction consultancy
- A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Exposure to construction projects through multiple stages of the project lifecycle
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence working with clients, consultants and contractors
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development
- Good report writing and project administration skills
- Progress towards MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous
