Assistant Design manager

Overview

We are currently seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join a leading main contractor on a large-scale development in Wembley. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a dynamic design team, supporting the delivery of complex residential/mixed-use schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and management of the design process from pre-construction through to project completion

• Support the Design Manager in managing consultants, architects, and subcontractor design packages

• Review and track design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions

• Ensure design information is issued in line with programme requirements

• Attend and contribute to design team meetings

• Assist with RFI management and design queries

• Monitor compliance with building regulations, planning conditions, and client requirements

• Support the integration of buildability, cost, and programme considerations into the design process

Requirements

• Previous experience in a design coordination or assistant design role within construction

• Background working on residential or mixed-use developments preferred

• Understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and technical detailing

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (or similar)

• Working towards or interested in professional membership (e.g. CIOB/RIBA/ICE)
