Are you an experienced asset management professional with a background in social housing? Do you have the strategic vision, analytical expertise and leadership skills to influence major investment decisions and improve housing outcomes for communities?
We are seeking a Strategic Asset Appraisal Manager to lead the appraisal and evaluation of a diverse housing portfolio, helping to shape future investment strategies and maximise the performance and value of existing homes.
The Role
As Strategic Asset Appraisal Manager, you will lead the assessment of housing assets, combining property, financial, regulatory and strategic data to support informed decision-making. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities for investment, regeneration, redevelopment and disposal, ensuring the best outcomes for both residents and the organisation.
Working closely with Development, Regeneration, Housing and Property teams, you will help drive long-term asset strategies and support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic appraisals of housing schemes, blocks and property portfolios.
- Analyse asset performance data and identify investment opportunities.
- Develop robust business cases for regeneration, redevelopment, investment and disposal projects.
- Improve asset appraisal methodologies and land optimisation processes.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support strategic planning and development opportunities.
- Build productive relationships with local authorities and external partners.
- Lead and support teams through change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure investment decisions balance commercial considerations with social impact.
About You
You will have:
- Extensive experience within social housing asset management or property management.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams through change.
- Excellent analytical and financial appraisal abilities.
- Experience using data and insight to improve services and strategic decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of housing regulations, property investment, regeneration and asset performance.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in a property, housing, construction or related discipline.
Desirable
- Professional membership such as RICS, CIOB or RIBA.
