ASC Teaching Assistant – Southwark

Salary: £85 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term

GSL Education is seeking a committed and patient ASC Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Southwark. This role focuses on supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional learning needs, helping them to access education in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC.

• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.

• Encourage students’ social, emotional, and academic development.

• Support pupils with communication and interaction, including the use of visual aids or alternative communication methods.

• Foster independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through consistent support.

• Previous experience working with children with Autism or special educational needs is highly desirable.

• Compassionate, resilient, and adaptable approach.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs.
