Area Sales Manager – Materials Handling

Location: Croydon
Salary: Competitive DOE + Company Car
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Are you an experienced Materials Handling / Forklift Sales professional looking for your next challenge?

We are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established territory across the South East, with a strong focus on new business development, sales growth and customer relationship management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who knows the forklift and materials handling market and is confident generating new business and closing sales.

The Role

You will be responsible for growing sales across your territory, developing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Generating new business through proactive prospecting and customer visits
• Managing and developing an existing customer portfolio
• Identifying upselling and account development opportunities
• Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial terms
• Conducting customer presentations and equipment demonstrations
• Building strong relationships from operational level through to senior management
• Identifying new markets and sales opportunities
• Managing your territory, diary and customer visits effectively
• Recording and managing sales activity through CRM
• Converting opportunities into successful sales

What We''re Looking For

You will need:

• Minimum 5 years'' sales experience within the Materials Handling / Forklift industry
• A proven track record in new business development
• Strong account management and relationship-building skills
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and objection-handling abilities
• A consultative, solution-led approach to sales
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Good IT and CRM experience
• Strong organisation and territory management skills
• A self-motivated, driven and results-focused approach
