Allocations and Verifications OfficerLocation: South East LondonRate: £30.67 per hour UmbrellaContract: 3-Month Ongoing ContractHours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pmWorking Arrangement: Hybrid - 2 Days in the Office We are currently recruiting for an Allocations and Verifications Officer to join a Housing team within a South East London Council on a 3-month ongoing contract.The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Council''s statutory rehousing responsibilities under Part VI of the Housing Act 1996, delivering an efficient, customer-focused allocations and verification service. Key Responsibilities Manage housing allocations and verification processes for tenants and residents applying for transfers and social housing. Allocate Council properties and make nominations to Housing Associations and Housing Co-operatives, including mobility schemes where appropriate. Advertise properties and shortlist prospective tenants through Choice-Based Lettings (CBL), ensuring applicants meet the relevant needs and qualification criteria. Make direct offers in accordance with the Council''s Housing Allocation Scheme, policies and procedures. Undertake detailed verification and investigation of housing applications, including home visits where necessary. Maintain a strong working knowledge of housing allocation policies, legislation and procedures.
