Acquisitions Manager - Retirement Living RentalsDeverellsmith has partnered with an established property investment and development company, launching a new retirement living rental platform. In this role, you will acquire, refurbish and manage a large portfolio of age-restricted retirement flats across London and the South East. The target is 10-15 acquisitions per month.
OverviewThis role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring retirement flats, coordinating light refurbishments, and ensuring properties are ready for rental.
Responsibilities
Sourcing opportunities through your network, estate agents, property portals, auctions and direct approaches.
Negotiating acquisitions at attractive discounts.
Coordinating and managing refurbishments - from light redecoration to new kitchens/bathrooms - using your own trade contacts or building a reliable team.
Appointing and managing surveyors for lease extensions and negotiating terms effectively.
Liaising with local agents to establish post-refurb market values and rental levels before acquisition.
Maintaining a clear and organised acquisitions pipeline (properties under review, offers made, in legals, refurbished, let, etc.).
Reporting regularly to senior management on progress and pipeline.
About you
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Property experience, ideally including acquisitions, refurbishments, and lease extensions.
Organised and methodical, able to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
IT literate and confident in using property platforms.
Ability to build and manage relationships with estate agents, contractors, and surveyors.
Full driving licence (company car provided).
Willingness to travel extensively across the South East.
