1:1 SEN TA- TROWBRIDGE

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them with their learning, social, and emotional development.

• Assist the student in understanding and engaging with lesson content, ensuring they can follow and participate in classroom activities.

• Help the student complete classwork and other academic tasks, offering tailored assistance in a way that suits their learning style.

• Support the student''s emotional well-being by offering encouragement, building confidence, and fostering positive relationships.

• Adapt learning materials and teaching resources where necessary, to ensure the student''s needs are met.

• Liaise with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to supporting the student.

• Promote independence and encourage the student to develop essential skills for learning and social interaction.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an SEN setting, is highly desirable but not essential.

• A passion for supporting children with special educational needs, and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.

• Patience, understanding, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• A positive, can-do attitude, and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the student.
