1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Contract Type: Part-Time, Temporary
Location: Southampton
Pay: andpound;70 to andpound;110 dependent on experience*
Start Date: April to 31st August (possibility for extension)

We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and caring Learning Support Assistant to support a Year R child. This role involves working within the classroom and providing targeted support for a child with additional needs.

  • Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Calm, kind, and adaptable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting childrenandrsquo;s needs.
  • Experience of the Early Years curriculum
  • Experience of working with children with social/communication difficulties

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEND, adapting learning to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support childrenandrsquo;s social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to implement personalised support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and well-being through encouragement and structured support.
