We are seeking a dedicated individual to support pupils within a highly regarded SEMH and ASC School in Leyland.This role is perfect for those with a background in community youth work, sports coaching, or residential care who want to make a long-term impact. You will work in a small classroom setting with a maximum of 5 pupils, focusing on those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).Your ResponsibilitiesEngagement and Mentoring: Act as a role model, focusing on emotional regulation rather than traditional academic instruction.Small Group Support: Work within a tight-knit group of 5 pupils, helping them navigate social interactions and manage anxieties.De-escalation: Use calm, trauma-informed techniques to maintain a safe learning environment.1:1 Support: Lead breakout sessions to help pupils build resilience and life skills.RequirementsExperience: Previous experience as a Youth Worker, Support Worker, or SEN Teaching Assistant.Specialism: A strong understanding of ASC and SEMH is essential.Availability: Must be able to commit to 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday.Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update ..... full job details .....
