About the Role: As a Youth Justice Worker, you will support the delivery of high-quality youth justice service by continuous improvement aligned with HMIP Standards and National Standards for Youth Justice.
Responsibilities
Work alongside Service Improvement Leads to address key practice areas
Collaborate with the workforce to help shift culture and practice
Use data and lived experience feedback to drive improvements
Partner with agencies to ensure ambition and high standards for young people
Support colleagues and promote best practice
Adapt to evolving needs and continuously develop your skills
Support the implementation and monitoring of the HMIP Improvement Plan, ensuring actions are embedded across the service
Develop and maintain robust quality assurance frameworks to evaluate service delivery and outcomes
Review and update policies and procedures in line with the revised HMIP inspection standards and national guidance
Support the service in preparing for future inspections and audits, including self-assessment and evidence collation
Work collaboratively with operational teams to identify areas for development and share best practice
Provide training, briefings, and resources to ensure staff are informed and confident in applying updated standards and policies
Analyse performance data and feedback to inform strategic planning and service development
Who We Are Looking For
Someone with Youth Justice experience (essential)
Confident working with partner agencies and influencing positive change
Passionate about improving services for children and young people
Proven experience in youth justice with a strong understanding of inspection frameworks and quality assurance processes
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong case management and problem-solving ability
Resilience and empathy when working with complex cases
Proactive team player who values safeguarding and empowerment
Knowledge of the HMIP inspection standards and National Standards for Youth Justice
Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive service improvement
Commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and young people
