We're looking for two dedicated Youth Development Workers to join a supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–25. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting young people experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop life skills and take positive steps towards independent living.
What You'll Be Doing No two days are the same. You'll provide practical and emotional support, helping young people navigate housing, finances, wellbeing, education and employment while encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one support and key worker sessions.
- Creating and reviewing personalised support and action plans.
- Completing risk assessments and managing safeguarding concerns.
- Supporting tenancy sustainment and housing-related needs.
- Assisting with benefits applications and financial management.
- Helping young people access education, training and employment opportunities.
- Working alongside partner agencies to secure the right support.
- Preparing young people for successful move-on into independent accommodation.
You'll have:
- Experience supporting or engaging with young people.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and support planning.
- An understanding of mental health, wellbeing and the challenges facing vulnerable young people.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, resilient and person-centred approach.
