Youth Development WorkerLOCATION:St Austell, CornwallSALARY: £15.34 + holiday pay DURATION: Temporary until end SeptemberHOURS: 37.5 hours per week - Shifts between 8am - 8pm, Monday to SundayAbout The Role:We are recruiting a Youth Development Worker to join a supported accommodation service in St Austell, helping young people experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards independent living. The service takes a strength-based approach, encouraging young people to aim high, build their independence, and work towards their ambitions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting young people in a supported living accommodation, with occasional short periods of lone working.Key Responsibilities:Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16-25.Develop and review support and action plans tailored to individual goals.Update and manage risk assessments and risk management plans.Support young people with tenancy and housing management.Assist with benefits applications (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit).Guide young people in budgeting, paying bills, and managing finances.Explore and support pathways into education, training, and employment.Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, domestic violence services, landlords, etc.).Help young people prepare for independent living and successful move-on.Adapt communication styles to provide person-centred, creative support.
