The young person is currently working with one of our mentors and has shown fantastic engagement. His main area of need is SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). The mentor has built a strong relationship with him and has been instrumental in his progress; however, the mentoring provision can only go so far academically. The young person has demonstrated that he is ready to access more complex learning and would benefit from specialist tuition in both Maths and English. The progress made so far has been significant. When we originally received this referral, there was no expectation that he would engage in more than two hours per week due to a long history of non-engagement. However, thanks to the positive relationships that have been built, we are now looking to work towards a 15-hour weekly package, consisting of: 6 hours with his existing mentor Up to 9 hours with a new tutor There is no expectation that the full 9 hours of tutoring will be delivered immediately.
