Hays Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Preston to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community and make a real difference to pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education.
The successful candidate will support Year 6 pupils academically, socially and emotionally as they prepare for SATs and their transition to secondary school.

Your new role
As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom.
• Deliver targeted interventions to small groups and individual pupils.
• Assist pupils with varying abilities to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
• Support preparation for SATs and end-of-key-stage assessments.
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school staff.
• Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What you''ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
• Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Be patient, adaptable and passionate about supporting children''s learning.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
