About the Role:
Supply Desk are pleased to be working with a vibrant two-form entry primary school in Gillingham, known for its inclusive ethos and happy, engaged learners. The school are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2025, covering a maternity leave until at least April 2026.

This long-term position is perfect for an ECT (Early Career Teacher) or any qualified teacher looking to make a real impact in a nurturing and well-resourced school environment. You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing across all subjects for a lively and supportive Year 5 class.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum.
  • Take full teaching responsibilities including planning, marking, and assessment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued.
  • Collaborate with year group partners and leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality teaching.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
  • Embrace ongoing professional development and feedback.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
£ Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
£ Be enthusiastic and committed to delivering high-quality education.
£ Have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
£ Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
£ Be keen to grow professionally and work collaboratively with a supportive team.
£ Have or be willing to obtain a valid Enhanced DBS check.
