The Opportunity:

A thriving primary school in Kent is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Year 5 Teacher to join their team in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with motivated learners and make a significant impact on their academic journey as they prepare for the transition to Key Stage 3. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team, committed to providing a high standard of education and fostering an environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, teach, and deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in line with the Year 5 National Curriculum, with a strong focus on developing pupils'' skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.
  • Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor pupil progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents, and using data to inform future planning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes self-confidence, independent learning, and collaboration.
  • Work closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and a consistent approach to student progress across the school.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong understanding of the Year 5 curriculum and experience in teaching Key Stage 2 pupils.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, focused learning environment.
  • Ability to assess pupil progress and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to professional growth and contributing to the collaborative culture of the school.
