Year 5 SEN Teaching AssistantHammersmith and Fulham, West London 110 - 125 per day ASAP Start Full-Time Long-TermAbout the RoleLong Term Futures are working with a supportive primary school in Hammersmith and Fulham to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 5 classroom.The role will focus on supporting a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder alongside behavioural and trauma-related needs. The successful candidate will need to be calm, resilient and consistent, with the ability to build trust while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.Key responsibilities include:Providing targeted 1:1 support within a Year 5 classroomSupporting a pupil with autism, behavioural and trauma-related needsHelping with emotional regulation and engagement in learningUsing positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategiesSupporting the pupil during transitions and challenging periods of the school dayBuilding a consistent and trusting relationship with the pupilEncouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactionWorking closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral teamThe Ideal CandidateThe school is looking for someone who:Has experience supporting pupils with autism and challenging behaviourIdeally has experience working with children who have experienced traumaIs confident managing dysregulation and challenging situationsCan remain calm, patient and consistentUnderstands the importance of boundaries, routine and relationship-based ..... full job details .....
