Year 4 Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sunderland, working specifically within a Year 4 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking to make a positive difference to their learning, confidence and development. The Role As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will: Work closely with the class teacher to support the Year 4 class. Provide support to pupils during lessons and classroom activities. Work with individual pupils and small groups where additional support is required. Help deliver catch-up activities and targeted interventions. Support children with their reading, writing, maths and wider learning. Encourage pupils to become more confident and independent learners. Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment. Assist with classroom preparation and other general teaching assistant duties. About You The school is looking for someone who is: Caring, patient and enthusiastic about working with children. Confident supporting pupils in a primary school environment. Able to build positive relationships with children and staff. Reliable, proactive and willing to get involved. Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning. Able to work effectively as part of a team. No formal qualifications are required, although a Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
