A welcoming and supportive primary school in Northampton is seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join their team from November 2026 on a long-term maternity cover contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a well-established Year 3 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they continue their journey through Key Stage 2. The school is looking for a passionate and committed teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations, and create a positive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative staff team and benefit from strong support from the school''s leadership and wider teaching team.

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons for a Year 3 class

• Deliver the Key Stage 2 curriculum effectively across core and foundation subjects

• Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs

• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and pupil achievement

• Support pupils'' academic, social, and emotional development

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and school leadership

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally within Year 3

• Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum

• Is confident in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons

• Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• Is organised, enthusiastic, and committed to raising pupil achievement

• Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents

• Is able to commit to a long-term maternity cover position from November

• Full-time Year 3 maternity cover position in a Northampton primary school

• Start date of November 2026
