Are you an experienced Year 2 Teacher with a passion for inclusive education?

Long Term Futures is recruiting a qualified, experienced Year 2 Teacher for a welcoming academy in Wednesbury (WS10). The class includes children with a range of emotional, social and learning needs. Behaviour is not disruptive, but several pupils require additional support with emotional regulation to access learning.

The academy follows an inclusive, trauma-responsive approach and is looking for a confident teacher who can create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued.
  • Use trauma-informed teaching strategies to support vulnerable learners.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and readiness to learn.
  • Implement visual timetables, predictable routines and clear transitions.
  • Differentiate and scaffold learning for pupils with SEND and additional needs.
  • Adapt teaching to meet varying cognitive, social and emotional needs without lowering expectations.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO and wider school staff.
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive learning experiences.

We''re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - induction completed.
  • Experienced teachers only - not suitable for ECTs.
  • Strong understanding of KS1 and the Year 2 curriculum.
  • Experience supporting SEND and vulnerable pupils.
  • A trauma-informed, patient and adaptable teaching approach.
