Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Year 2 national curriculum

• Prepare pupils for end-of-KS1 SATs through targeted teaching and assessment strategies

• Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners

• Track and assess pupil progress, using data to inform planning and interventions

• Work collaboratively with year group colleagues, teaching assistants, and subject leaders

• Build strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and staff CPD

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2 (although not essential)

• Strong understanding of phonics (e.g., Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or similar)

• Confidence in delivering end-of-KS1 assessments and using formative assessment effectively

• Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies

• A nurturing, reflective, and professional approach to teaching
