Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant Accrington (BB5)Are you a passionate educator looking for a rewarding role in a vibrant Key Stage 1 setting?We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in the BB5 area starting after the Easter break. This is an ongoing contract with a strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.The Role:Working across Year 1 and Year 2, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils during a key transition in their education. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver interventions, support Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar), and help create an engaging, inclusive learning environment.Start Date: After Easter (April 2026)Location: Accrington / Oswaldtwistle area (BB5)Contract: Ongoing, Full-time (Term Time Only)Pay: 85 - 100 per day (depending on experience/level)Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small group support for Literacy and Numeracy.Lead Phonics interventions to boost reading progress.Assist with classroom management and preparing learning resources.Support children with varied needs, ensuring every child can access the curriculum.Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for young learners.What We Are Looking For:Experience: Previous experience working in a UK Primary School (ideally KS1).Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.Skills: A solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum and Phonics.Attributes: Patient, creative, ..... full job details .....
