Year 1 Teacher - Hunslet, Leeds Start Date: After Easter (earlier start possible)Contract: Until Summer 2026Location: Hunslet, LeedsRole Type: Full-time, TemporaryAbout the RoleHays Education is supporting a warm and community-focused primary school in Hunslet, Leeds, who are seeking an experienced Year 1 Teacher to join their team from after Easter until the end of the summer term. An earlier start date can be offered for the right candidate.This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and resilient teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and the ability to create a calm, structured learning environment.What the School NeedsThe successful candidate will ideally have: Proven experience teaching in Year 1Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to set and maintain clear boundariesA nurturing but assertive approach that helps pupils re-engage positively with learningThe confidence to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs You will also be working in a class with a child who has higher-level SEND needs and will be supported by a dedicated 1:1.
