Year 1 Teacher

Year 1 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from June 2026
This full-time Year 1 Teacher role offers the opportunity to join a nurturing and well-led primary school with a strong focus on high-quality teaching and positive pupil development. The school promotes a calm and inclusive learning environment where early learning is carefully planned, making this an excellent opportunity for a Year 1 Teacher seeking a long-term role with continuity and impact.Duties as Year 1 Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning routines
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development during this key transition year
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents to support pupil outcomes
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to planning and moderation activities
• Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times

Ideal Year 1 Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1
• Strong understanding of early phonics, literacy, and numeracy development
• Ability to create engaging lessons that motivate young learners
• Confident classroom management and a nurturing teaching approach
• Commitment to professional development and inclusive education
