Year 1 Class Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum

• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being

• Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform teaching

• Support early literacy and numeracy development through differentiated instruction

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families to support pupil outcomes

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS and have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 1

• Have a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics (preferably systematic synthetic phonics)

• Be committed to inclusive practice, with experience supporting SEND and EAL pupils

• Demonstrate excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

• Be reflective and proactive in their approach to professional development
