Location: Sittingbourne

Pay: £17.00 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Yard Supervisor to join an established business based in Sittingbourne.

This is a hands-on supervisory position, ideal for someone who is confident leading a team while also being comfortable getting involved with the day-to-day running of the yard.
 

You will be responsible for coordinating the yard team, organising workloads and ensuring materials and products are handled, moved and stored safely and efficiently. You will also work closely with other areas of the business to keep daily operations running smoothly.
 

The Role

• Supervising and supporting the yard team on a day-to-day basis
• Organising workloads and allocating tasks across the team
• Coordinating loading and unloading activities
• Ensuring materials and products are moved and stored safely and correctly
• Monitoring the workflow throughout the yard and ensuring daily requirements are met
• Keeping the yard organised, clean and safe
• Operating yard equipment and machinery where required
• Supporting with manual handling and general yard duties
• Carrying out regular checks to maintain safety and quality standards
• Ensuring company health and safety procedures are followed
• Identifying and reporting any issues or operational concerns
• Providing guidance and support to team members
• Working closely with other departments to ensure an efficient operation
• Taking a hands-on approach and assisting the team where required

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident taking responsibility, can organise a team effectively and isn't afraid to get stuck in when needed.

Essential:

• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience within a yard, manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
• Experience organising workloads and allocating tasks
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Strong communication skills
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Able to work independently and use your own initiative
