We are currently recruiting for an experienced-Yard Operative-to join a busy scrap metal recycling operation. The role involves working in an industrial yard environment, handling and moving scrap materials, including-heavy domestic appliances such as fridges and freezers.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading, unloading and moving scrap metal and appliances around the yard
• Handling heavy fridges, freezers and other large domestic appliances
• Sorting and separating different types of scrap materials
• Using manual handling equipment and yard machinery where required
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and organised
• Following all site health & safety procedures
• Working as part of a team in a busy, physically demanding environment
• Carrying out general yard duties as required

About You

• Previous experience in a-yard, scrap metal, recycling, warehouse or industrial environment-is desirable
• Comfortable handling-heavy and bulky items
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual work throughout the shift
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Able to work safely around heavy machinery and vehicles
• Good attitude and willingness to get stuck in
