Yard Person / Ground Investigation EngineerManchesterPermanent role£29,724.50 / year + benefitsA Yard Person / Site Engineer is required to join a Ground Investigation contractor to work on a permanent role in Manchester. You will be combining yard management with site engineering and monitoring duties to support the companies operations in Manchester.ResponsibilitiesManaging and maintaining a safe, tidy yard and stores, including equipment, consumables, and samplesPreparing, loading, transporting, and returning site equipment and materialsReceiving, logging, storing, segregating, and disposing of soil and rock samplesProviding site engineering support, including in-situ testing (e.g. soakaway, permeability, DCP)Undertaking gas and groundwater monitoring and samplingCarrying out site walkovers to support Phase 1 Desk StudiesAssisting with stock control, compliance, and mentoring junior staffRequirements:Full UK manual driving licenceCSCS cardWilling to work between yard, office, sites, and laboratoriesStrong organisation, communication, and health and safety awarenessIdeally (not necessarily) a degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
