About the Role
Expert Employment seeks a Yard person in Peterhead to support workshop operations. This contract position, paying £13 to £18 per annum, involves loading and unloading deliveries, assisting Technicians with manual tasks, and maintaining a safe, visitor-ready facility. Responsibilities include preserving products from receipt to supply, handling and storing equipment safely, supporting the Production Manager with inventory reconciliation, and performing lifting operations using a forklift and overhead crane. A full driving licence, experience with lorry loading and unloading, overhead crane training, and excellent timekeeping are essential. Candidates should be prepared for a hands-on role requiring physical work and strict adherence to safety protocols.
The role will primarily be supporting workshop operations such as loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are received in a timely manner and assisting Technicians with a multitude of manual tasks whilst ensuring the facility is in a safe, visitor ready state at all times.
Key responsibilities
Ensure all products are preserved from receipt to supply
Responsible for ensuring the safe handling and storage of equipment within the facility
Assist the Production Manager with inventory reconciliation
Ensure good housekeeping within own work area
Lifting operations as and when required including Forklift and overhead crane
Skills
Full driving licence
Experience in load and unloading lorries
Overhead Crane Training
Excellent time keeping
