Yard Operative / Steel Loader

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Operative / Steel Loader to join our clients team.This role involves the safe and efficient handling of materials within a busy warehouse environment, specialising in steel and heavy goods.The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, operating relevant machinery, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our facility. Prior experience in warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge is advantageous, alongside the ability to perform heavy lifting and materials handling tasks.# This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their skills within a dynamic industrial setting.ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload steel and other heavy materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety regulations.Assist with warehouse organisation, including stacking, storing, and retrieving materials.Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch.Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and movement of goods.Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.Support with mechanical tasks related to material handling equipment as required.Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.ExperiencePrevious experience in warehouse operations or construction environments is preferred.Proficiency in operating forklifts is essential; certification is advantageous.Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable.Knowledge of materials handling procedures, including load & unload techniques.Mechanical aptitude or construction experience will be considered a plus.Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods.Experience in shipping & receiving processes is beneficial.Working DaysIND123
