About the Role
Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts is recruiting a Yard Operative in Milton (ML11) on a temporary-to-permanent, full-time basis. The role involves loading and unloading mats and materials, performing general housekeeping, and organising stock within the yard. Assisting with stock movement and operating basic yard equipment safely are key duties, alongside following health and safety procedures. Working hours are 45 per week, Monday to Friday, with winter shifts from 6am-3.45pm and summer shifts from 7am-4.45pm. Overtime is available at time and a half or double time. The salary is £13.80 per hour. Applicants need previous yard operative experience and a commitment to safe working practices.

Responsibilities:
· Loading and unloading of mats and other materials
· General yard duties including housekeeping and organisation
· Assisting with the movement and storage of stock within the yard
· Operating basic yard equipment in a safe manner
· Following site health & safety procedures at all times
· Supporting wider yard operations as required
Essential Skills:
· Previous yard operative experience preferable but not essential
· Physically fit with the ability to carry out manual tasks, including lifting and carrying.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Reliable with a strong work ethic.
· Good teamwork skills and a proactive attitude.
