Yard Operative - Bardon Hill

We have an initially temporary Yard Operative role available within Holcim''s Asphalt site. This role is ideal for someone with previous yard, gatehouse, or traffic management experience. However, applicants with a proactive nature and holding strong communication skills will be considered.

Role: Yard Operative

Location: Holcim, Bardon Hill Quarry, Coalville, LE65 1TL

Rate: -13.45 per hour

Contract length: Ongoing temporary

Shift Patterns: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (5:00am - 5:00pm). Please note: Full training will be provided Monday to Friday for the first month before moving to the 4 on 4 off pattern. Candidates must be fully committed to the 5am start times prior to interview.

Start: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out driver and contractor inductions
• Conducting drug and alcohol testing as required
• Managing gatehouse duties and directing site traffic
• General site tidy up and maintenance
• Enforcing Holcim''s site safety rules and regulations to lorry drivers

Essential requirements:

• Driving licence and access to own vehicle
• Ability to adhere to early starts (5:00am) and work the 4 on 4 off shift pattern listed above
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable requirements:

• Previous experience in a yard, gatehouse, traffic management, or industrial environment
• Prior experience with contractor/driver inductions or basic health & safety compliance
