The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Supervisor to support our Workshop Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of our busy workshop!
You’ll coordinate production activities, oversee schedules, and lead a talented team of joiners, machinists, and finishers. This is a hands-on role where your leadership, problem-solving skills, and commitment to high standards will help us maintain our reputation for outstanding results and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation
• Oversee job boards, work instructions, and production schedules to meet deadlines and quality expectations
• Lead, motivate, and develop workshop staff, promoting a culture of safety, pride in craftsmanship, and teamwork
• Conduct regular health, safety, and environmental checks, ensuring compliance and high housekeeping standards
• Support quality control processes to ensure all finished products meet company and client specifications
• Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to team members and apprentices
• Work closely with the Workshop Manager and wider business to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
About You
• Proven experience in a joinery or manufacturing workshop environment (supervisory or team lead experience desirable)
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and workshop procedures
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to motivate, coach, and support a diverse team
• Detail-focused with a passion for delivering work of the highest standard
• Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do approach
