HGV Workshop Supervisor Location: ReadingSalary: CompetitiveHours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm, plus alternate Saturdays 7:00am-11:30am Our client is a leading provider of waste management and environmental services, operating a large commercial vehicle fleet across the UK. They are seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to join their maintenance team, overseeing the day-to-day activities of technicians and apprentices while also remaining hands-on with servicing, repairs and general workshop duties. Key Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate workshop technicians and apprentices, ensuring effective allocation of work and smooth handovers. Support and guide the workshop team to work safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Carry out hands-on technician duties, including servicing, repairs and general workshop support. Manage service sheets, job cards, open defects and assist with vehicle-off-road reporting. Work closely with the Workshop Manager and operations team to maintain vehicle availability. Assist with parts ordering, stock control and maintaining accurate workshop records. Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety procedures and relevant legislation. Contribute to continuous improvement across workshop processes and working practices. Requirements Previous experience in an HGV workshop environment, ideally in a supervisory or senior technician capacity.
