Job ID: AD137 Job title: Plant Workshop Technician Location: Redruth, Cornwall Job type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: 07:30 - 16.30 Monday to Friday Salary: up to £40,000 Job Purpose To carry out maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on plant machinery in a workshop environment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities • Perform routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on vans and light commercial vehicles • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment • Carry out repairs including engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension, and exhaust systems • Conduct MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet road safety standards • Complete job cards, service records, and documentation accurately • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment • Follow health and safety procedures and company policies at all times • Communicate effectively with workshop supervisors and parts departments • Occasionally liaise with customers regarding vehicle issues (if required) Skills and Experience Required • Proven experience as a vehicle or van mechanic (light commercial vehicles preferred) • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills • Experience using modern diagnostic tools and equipment • Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship • ..... full job details .....
