Workshop Operative

We are recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a busy and supportive team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in producing high-quality results and thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment.

You''ll be responsible for carrying out servicing, repairs and general workshop duties, ensuring equipment is prepared to a high standard and ready for use. This is a varied position where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to develop your skills while working as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance on a range of equipment.
• Complete workshop tasks safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Undertake basic fabrication and welding where required.
• Prepare equipment, including painting and finishing work.
• Complete relevant paperwork and update computer-based records.
• Follow daily work schedules and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Operate workshop equipment safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Support colleagues and assist with additional workshop duties as required.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment.
• Basic welding or fabrication experience is advantageous.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for completing records and documentation.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is preferred.
