Salary: -12.74 per hour
Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Bishop''s Stortford
Hours: 40 hours per week + overtime available at an enhanced rate

Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a busy engineering environment based near Bishop''s Stortford. This is a hands-on opportunity suited to someone with a background in metalwork, fabrication or general workshop environments. The successful candidate will be working with metal components and equipment, carrying out assembly, disassembly, cutting and general workshop duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembling and dismantling metal components and equipment
• Cutting and preparing metal to required specifications
• Using hand tools and power tools safely
• Assisting with general workshop and engineering tasks
• Measuring and checking components
• Following drawings, instructions and specifications where required
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
• Supporting experienced engineers and fabricators with day-to-day tasks

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous workshop, metalwork, fabrication or engineering experience
• An understanding of assembling and dismantling components
• Experience using hand and/or power tools
• The ability to measure, cut and prepare metal
• A practical and hands-on approach to work
• Good attention to detail
• A full UK driving licence due to the rural location of the site
