Workshop Operative
We are recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a well-established, Bradford-based engineering manufacturer. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, ongoing training, and genuine progression as the company continues to expand following significant recent investment.
The role would suit someone with a trades or practical background, particularly those with experience in painting and decorating, finishing, construction or similar hands-on environments.

What''s on offer for the Workshop Operative?
- Starting pay rate of -13.32 per hour (-27,009 per annum), rising to -13.80 per hour (-27,986 per annum) following successful completion of probation
- Overtime paid at time and a half through the week
- 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and your birthday off

- Working hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm with early finishes on Fridays

Responsibilities of the Workshop Operative
- Applying fibreglass coating to modular buildings using rollers and other hand tools
- Preparing surfaces and ensuring coatings are applied evenly and to a high standard
- Working from drawings and specifications where required
- Using a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Carrying out finishing and general workshop duties as required
- Supporting the wider production team to meet delivery deadlines
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health & safety procedures
Requirements of the Workshop Operative
- Previous experience in a practical, hands-on or trades environment
- Background in painting and decorating, construction, joinery, finishing or a similar trade would be beneficial
- Comfortable using hand tools and working with your hands
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Reliable and able to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and work in a manufacturing environment
