Location: Unit A1, Fairoaks Airport, Chobham, Surrey, GU24 8HU
Salary: £50,000+ DOE + £1,000 Welcome Bonus + £100 Monthly Attendance Bonus
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, with a 1-hour break
Optional Saturdays: Paid at time and a half

The Opportunity

TLC Auto Refinishing is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy commercial vehicle repair workshop.

You'll oversee 15–20 skilled operatives across Panel, Fabrication and Paint, driving productivity, quality and efficiency while ensuring the workshop operates safely and effectively.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong bodyshop or automotive repair experience who knows how to get the best from a team.

What You'll Do

•  Lead daily workshop operations, briefings and team performance.
•  Oversee Panel, Fabrication and Paint departments.
•  Allocate work effectively and ensure targets are achieved.
•  Coordinate with Stores to maintain parts availability.
•  Manage final quality checks and resolve issues quickly.
•  Monitor timekeeping and performance through job clocking systems.
•  Maintain high standards of H&S, PPE and company procedures.
•  Drive cost-effective working and minimise material waste.
•  Report on workshop performance to management.
•  Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
•  Motivate, support and lead the workshop team.

What You'll Bring

•  10+ years' experience in a bodyshop or automotive repair environment.
•  5+ years' experience managing workshop teams.
•  Strong understanding of vehicle repair and refurbishment processes.
•  Confident leadership and people-management skills.
•  Strong organisation, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
•  Good working knowledge of H&S and PPE requirements.
•  Comfortable using Microsoft Office for reporting and scheduling.
•  Full driving licence.

Desirable: HGV licence, first aid training and management qualifications.
