Workshop Manager

Location: Bedford Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE Our client is looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager to join their team in Bedford. This is a varied role covering workshop management, engineering, maintenance, hydraulics, field engineers, stock and procurement. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be comfortable getting hands-on when required. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day workshop and engineering operations Provide hands-on technical and engineering support Lead and support field/mobile engineers Oversee maintenance, fault-finding and repairs Utilise strong hydraulics knowledge Manage stock, parts, tools and equipment Oversee procurement and suppliers Support fleet and vehicle management Ensure Health and Safety and compliance standards Oversee RAMS, LOLER, PUWER and inspections Support engineer training and development Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime Requirements Strong mechanical engineering background Strong practical hydraulics experience HGV licence Previous workshop, maintenance or engineering management experience Experience managing/supporting field engineers Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills Stock, parts and procurement experience Good understanding of Health and Safety and compliance Knowledge of RAMS, LOLER and PUWER Strong customer service and communication skills Hands-on approach with the ability to get involved technically Salary and Benefits £40,000 - £50,000 basic salary ..... full job details .....
